Scalp Micropigmentation for Women
Hair loss in women is one of the most underspoken experiences there is. It's not just about hair. It's about the way you style it differently to hide what's happening. The hats you wear. The angles you avoid in photos. The exhaustion of managing something so personal, so privately.
At Lasting Impressions we see you. And we've helped women just like you find their way back to themselves.
Women experience hair loss for many reasons — including:
Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS)
Thyroid Disorders
Menopause
Postpartum Hair Loss
Over-Styling
Chemotherapy-related hair loss
Alopecia Areata
Medical Conditions or Medications
Hairline and Temporal Strengthening
For many women the first signs of thinning appear at the hairline and temples — those delicate areas that frame your face and define how you wear your hair.
Jim softly and naturally restores that definition using a feather-light technique that mimics the appearance of baby hairs. The result is subtle, feminine, and completely undetectable. Your hair, only fuller.
Density Treatment
When hair starts thinning across the top and crown, it can feel like you're watching yourself disappear. Density treatment works entirely within your existing hair — adding the appearance of fullness without shaving, without surgery, and without anyone knowing.
Jim uses the Ludwig Savin Scale to assess your level of hair loss and build a treatment plan specific to where you are right now — and where you're headed.
The result is a scalp that stops showing through. Hair that moves, looks, and feels completely natural. Confidence you stopped expecting to feel again.
How It Works — Your Journey Starts Here
Your journey at Lasting Impressions doesn't start when you sit in Jim's chair. It starts the moment you reach out.
When your inquiry comes in, Eric — a 13-year SMP industry veteran and client himself — responds personally. He learns your situation, answers your questions, and makes sure you feel completely informed and comfortable before your first session ever begins.
Then it's Jim from start to finish.
-
This is where we create the foundation of your future self. The overall shape of your treatment is now visible and outlined.
-
This is where your new look really starts to come to life! Pigment from session 1 has settled and now we add fullness to the look. We make any adjustments to the hair line or pigment shade as we continue to blend the impressions into existing hair and the tattooed follicles from session 1.
Session 2 is typically spaced 10-14 days after session 1 depending on your treatment.
-
In session 3 we add more density, blend, and make any final changes to the hairline as needed.
Adding the finishing touches and details for a flawless and natural look. This session is spaced 2-4 weeks after session 2.
-
Now that you lived in your new look for a year. Adding to our “guaranteed” results. We request that you come back in to reassess how your treatment healed fully. As a 4th or possible 5th session, depending on your treatment, we touch up any areas that may have faded and give it one last layer if needed*. This session is FREE of charge.

Frequently Asked Questions By Women
Is SMP a good option for women?
Absolutely. Women experience hair loss differently than men — thinning along the part line, diffuse shedding, or hairline recession are all common. SMP addresses these concerns without surgery, medications, or visible downtime.
Will I have to shave my head?
No. Women's SMP is performed as a density treatment — pigment is placed within your existing hair to reduce scalp visibility and create the appearance of fuller, thicker hair. Your length stays intact.
What conditions does women's SMP treat?
SMP works well for female pattern hair loss, thinning due to hormonal changes, postpartum shedding, alopecia, and hair loss related to medical treatments like chemotherapy.
How is the hairline designed for women?
Jim takes into account your facial structure, existing hairline shape, and personal preferences. The result is soft, natural, and tailored — not a hard line.
How long does it take?
Each session runs approximately 2 to 4 hours. Most women complete their treatment in 2 to 3 sessions depending on the area being treated and desired result.
Is it permanent?
SMP is long-lasting, not permanent in the traditional sense. Pigment gradually softens over several years. A touch-up session refreshes the result — and at Lasting Impressions SMP, your first year touch-up is complimentary.
What's the cost?
Pricing is $1,500–$4,000 based on the scope of treatment. Cherry Financing is available if you'd like to spread payments out.
