Jim Franks was born and raised in Philadelphia. He spent over 20 years as a barber — not as a stepping stone to something else, but as a true calling. Two decades studying the human head. Learning how a hairline should sit above a brow. How the temple should fade into the sides. Where softness begins and definition ends. How skin tone, facial structure, and personal style all intersect in the few inches of hair above a person's forehead.
That foundation is everything.
When Jim transitioned to scalp micropigmentation, he didn't arrive as a student. He arrived as a master of the very anatomy SMP requires. His understanding of hairlines, pigment, and skin is the product of a career most artists simply haven't lived.
